A ventilator developed by a team of engineers and doctors led by Tony Sprague is being tested at the Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane:

 

Developed in less than two weeks, the OzVader is designed to help intensive care units and field hospitals cope in the event of an influx of patients with breathing difficulties.

“It’s a highly functional, low-technology mechanical ventilator that can be rapidly manufactured at low cost using abundantly available parts,” says Tony Sprague, an Executive MBA graduate and Group Manager of Technology and Innovation at Newcrest Mining.
